Edited comment to Possum below: Natural gas pipelines run at much higher temperatures than the dewpoint of methane which is very low. Those from a field may contain small amounts of liquid heavy hydrocarbons (natural gas liquids) but these are normally removed as close to the field as possible along with water and sometimes sulphur compounds and CO2. Natural gas from the well starts out hotter than ambient from the well but approaches ambient temperature through processing and a long pipeline. Still don’t know what a ngv pipeline is though?
you need to know the pressure of the pipeline. Then the methane pressure enthaly chart will give you the saturated vapour equilibrium temperature.
If you know the pressure add it to the question and I can look up my p-h chart.
The temperature should be close to whatever the ambient soil temperature is. Although compressed to very high pressure, around 1000 psi, CH4 inside still is a gas, a relatively thin one, so whatever its inlet temperature, it should quickly get to the temperature of the long pipe.
