What kind of Supermini would British sportscar makers Lotus produce, were they in the market to make that kind of car? Thanks to the Proton Satria Neo, honed to perfection by the Norfolk manufacturer, we dont have to wonder..
In case you werent already aware, Proton owns Lotus. The Malaysian companys marketing machine has been in overdrive recently, striving to make sure we all know that. The result is that for some time now, the Norfolk-based sportscar firms finest chassis engineering know-how has been brought to bear on new Proton products. The Satria Neo, however, was the first Proton to actually carry the Lotus mark about its bodywork.

I’m sorry but simply owning an expert engineering company simply isn’t enough. I grant you that the chassis and handling tech will be up to standard but Lotus don’t engineer their own powertrains and I guarantee you cabin quality will not be up to European standards as this work will have been exclusively undertaken by Proton. Design is one thing but perceived quality value is another. The materials are likely to be too plasticky and cheap. Not something to put the Lotus name towards.

haaa.. betul2.. aku walaupun ada kereta bukan kereta malaysia, tapi aku masih support kereta malaysia.. yela, walaupun kualiti dia masih x setanding dgn yg lain, tapi dorg boleh improve lagi.. aku masih bangga bila aku jumpa kereta malaysia dkt luar negara.. MALAYSIA BOLEH!

Bdk2 M’sia ni blagak je lbh, ngutuk #1. Ckp tu buruk ni buruk. Kalau btl pakai kete power xpe, ni ntah kete ape ntah yg dipakai sbnanye tu. Dan kalau pakai imported car pun tapi re-cond @ 2nd hand, xpyh nak blagak la. Ntah2 pakai Proton convert Mitsubishi je, tu pun beli brg tiruan kat Kedai Welding Kereta Ah Teng. Bangang, ckp je bsr. Aku? Aku sng cite, aku ngaku. Aku gaji kecik, blm mampu pakai kete. Pi keje naik RapidKL je. Ha, senang. Xpyh nak kutuk2 negara sdiri, apatah lg kalau xmampu….
