I wrote about Proton monopoly in NGV taxi industry the other day. Looks like Proton would like to expand not only for taxi, but also for private car owners. They’re looking for a wider reach.
While there’s a few of Proton NGV users are having a good experience in installing NGV conversion kits, some of the private car owners are playing ‘wait and see’ but applaud the move from Proton.
Proton will directly ship Waja, Saga and Persona from factory, similar to Naza Ria from Naza Corp by year end 2008 or early 2009.

Sources said that the kits would be competitively priced as Proton had ample sales volume.
“The Waja and Saga models fitted with NGV kits will be offered first to taxi drivers.
“There are also plans to offer the kits to earlier Proton models,” said the sources.
