Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) which is also known as a City Hall made a very good move, in response to the higher fuel price (even it’s reducing globally now).

Bernama reported that by switching / converting to NGV DBKL could save up to RM 70,000 monthly. The Return on Investment (ROI)? It will only take 15 months!

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 (Bernama) — Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has identified 150 of its petrol-engine vehicles to be modified and installed with the natural gas for vehicles (NGV) kits in a bid to reduce fuel expenses.

Mayor Ab Hakim Borhan said it would cost RM5,000 to RM 7,000 for each vehicle to be installed with the kits.

The installation would be done in stages and was expected to be completed by year end.

“The vehicles which will be installed with the NGV kits are the Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Sentra, Naza Ria and Mitsubishi Pajero,” he told reporters at his office here Wednesday.

He said that by switching to NGV, DBKL would be able to reduce its expenses on fuel by RM70,000 monthly and thus would offset the installation cost in just 15 months.

Ab Hakim said that even his official car had been installed with NGV kit and was being taken as a model in estimating the petrol-saving cost.
